The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee wrapped up play at the Ball State Fall Invitational with some solid work in singles play.
Meanwhile, each of the Panther doubles teams playing in championship matches came up just short in their quest for the title.
In the Flight A doubles final, Kelly Drvaric and Kari Kastenholz fell, 8-5, to Molly Casperson and Becky Jenkins of Butler. In the Flight D doubles final, Traci Litscher and Lauren Fenley fell to Stephanie Okuma and Dora Delgadillo of Northern Illinois, 8-2.
Flight A singles saw both Martina Schnapp and Drvaric split a pair of matches, while in Flight B Sammi Schoen dropped two contests while Kari Kastenholz claimed a straight-sets win over Alyssa Detroy of Dayton.
In Flight C singles, freshman Jenna Felsher split two matches, with the win coming over Jenny Edner of Northern Illinois. Ashley Schoneman captured her only singles match of the day on an injury default.
Flight D saw Litshcer split two matches, with the win coming in straight-sets over Mollee Carpenter of IPFW. And, Fenley split two contests, with her win coming in three sets over Erin Wilkie of Dayton.
In other doubles action, Schnapp and Schoen dropped their only match of the day in Flight B while Schoen and Felsher did the same in Flight C.
