Short-Handed Panthers Fall At Detroit

DETROIT - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision at Detroit Friday.

The Panthers (10-8, 2-3 Horizon), playing without injured freshman Ashley Schoneman, dropped the doubles point and then won just two of five contested singles contests.

Kari Kastenholz and Lauren Fenley were responsible for UWM's two wins on the day. Kastenholz claimed a 7-6(4), 2-6, 10-4 win over Aneta Maricevic at #2 singles, while Fenley pulled out a 4-6, 6-1, 10-4 victory over Amy Inman at #5 singles.

Milwaukee was also competitive in the two doubles matches that were played. Kastenholz and Kelly Drvaric fell, 8-6, at #1 doubles while Ali O'Neal and Traci Litshcer dropped an 8-5 decision at #2 doubles.

UWM wraps up the regular season next weekend with home contests against Cleveland State and Youngstown State.
