MILWAUKEE - Kyle Kearcher threw a complete game four-hitter to lead Wright State past the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee baseball team on Sunday at Henry Aaron Field. The Panthers (10-25, 9-10 Horizon) tied the game at one early but saw the Raiders (25-15, 16-8) pull away for the win.

Down 1-0 after the top of the first, Milwaukee tied the game at 1-1 in its half of the second inning. Junior Nick Wichser walked, went to third on junior Grant Berkovitz's single to right and scored on a double play ball.

That was all for the UWM offense, which was limited to a season-low four hits against WSU's starter. Kearcher (7-3) added to his league-leading victory total with an efficient game, striking out just two, walking two and inducing 14 ground ball outs.

Sophomore Andy Hetebrueg (0-2) took the loss for the Panthers, allowing six runs - five earned - on 10 hits in 6.2 innings of work. Freshman Zach Hoch threw a scoreless ninth to close out the game.

For Milwaukee, freshman Shaun Wegner had two of the four hits, with Berkovitz and senior Kyle Silver accounting for the other two. Kearcher also halted junior Jesse Hart's hitting streak at 11 games, a team-high this season. Justin Parker paced the Raiders with three hits and two runs batted in.

The Panthers continue this 12-game homestand on Tuesday, hosting Carroll College at Henry Aaron Field. The match-up was originally scheduled as a single game at 5 p.m., but will now be a doubleheader starting at 4 p.m.
