GREEN BAY, Wis. -
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis team extended its winning streak to three matches with its first-ever win over UW-Green Bay Friday night.
The Panthers (5-3) downed the Phoenix, 5-2, thanks to winning five of six singles matches.
"This is certainly a big win and something this program has never done before," UWM head coach Matt McCaskill said. "We certainly got great performances from Kelly Drvaric and Ali O'Neal in winning both their singles and doubles matches, and the rest of the team really pitched in. It was a very good effort."
Drvaric claimed a 6-3, 6-1 win at #2 singles while O'Neal pulled out a 4-6, 6-0, 6-3 victory at #4 singles. The duo also teamed up for UWM's lone doubles victory.
Other singles winners for the Panthers included Traci Litscher at #3 singles, Ashley Schoneman at #5 singles and Lauren Fenley at #6 singles.
UWM continues its weekend stay in Green Bay Saturday, squaring off with Xavier at 4:30 p.m.
