Kelly Drvaric of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee opened play in the Wilson/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Women's Regional Championships Thursday, falling to Christine Chiricosta of Bowling Green in straight sets.
Drvaric will now face Sophie Quist of Ball State in the consolation bracket after dropping a 6-1, 6-3 decision to Chiricosta Thursday afternoon.
The sophomore will also team up with Kari Kastenholz in doubles play at the event, with the tandem scheduled to face Marisa Lambropoulos and Annie McCarthy of Illinois in their first match.
