PEORIA. Ill - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis team dropped a pair of matches to Missouri Valley Conference foes this weekend.

The Panthers fell 7-0 to Creighton on Saturday night before dropping a 6-1 decision to Bradley Sunday.

Erin Felber again pulled out a victory for the Panthers, claiming UWM's only match point. She beat Jess Sampias of Bradley 6-4, 7-6 (8-6) at #6 singles during Sunday's action.

"Erin was the bright spot again by winning that match at #6 singles," coach Matt McCaskill said. "The team is playing hard but not competing well. We need to play well in pressure situations because we consistently lose the big points."

Saturday, the Panthers never got on track against the Blue Jays, who easily won all three doubles matches. Then, at #2 singles, Margie Van Lieshout lost a tough first set, 7-6, before bowing.

Sunday, UWM also struggled to find its stride, losing all three doubles matches and winning just one singles match.

"Saturday the doubles teams came out very flat," McCaskill said. "Margie lost a tough first set and just could not recover. Sunday, I thought we could be competitive with Bradley but we could just never really get going."

UWM has two more matches this weekend, visiting defending league champion UIC Friday before hosting Cleveland State Saturday.
