UWM Falls At Youngstown

Feb. 28, 2004

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee dropped a 6-1 decision to Youngstown State Saturday in Horizon League women's tennis action.

Kristen Bauknecht claimed the lone UWM win, scoring a 6-4, 5-7, 10-5 win at sixth singles.

UWM dropped all three doubles matches and the other five singles matches.

"It was disappointing because we were very sluggish and flat in doubles," head coach Erika Wentz said. "We picked it up during singles play but it was too little too late."

Margie Van Lieshout came the closest to breaking through for the Panthers, dropping a tough three-set match at number-one singles.

UWM continues its road trip Sunday at Cleveland State.
