The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee fell to Butler, 0-7 Sunday morning, in a Horizon League tennis showdown. The Panthers faced a Butler team that is coming off the 2002-2003 season as the Horizon League runner-ups. With the loss, the Panthers fall to 0-4 on the season.
Butler was led by the play of their 2002-2003 First-Team All Horizon League honoree, Alaina Griffin, who won in both doubles and singles play.
"Butler is a very strong team," Coach Erika Wentz said. "They came out to play and we didn't."
The Panthers return to action next Sunday at 1 p.m., as they will host IPFW.
"We will match up well with them (IPFW)," Wentz said. "A couple of our girls have beaten their doubles before."
All of UWM's home matches this spring are being played at the Highlander Elite Fitness & Racquet Club in Brookfield. Take I-94 West to Highway 45 North.
