HOMESTEAD, Fla. -
The UWM baseball team pounded out 21 hits en route to an easy 16-5 victory over St. Francis (N.Y.) Saturday in the first game of its eight-game spring trip to Florida.
The Panthers scored seven times in the second inning and added four more in the sixth to clinch their second straight victory.
Scott Gillitzer led the hit parade for UWM, going 5-for-6 with 4 RBI. Darin Haugom went 3-for-5 with 5 RBI, extending his hitting streak to seven games.
UWM's game with Stony Brook, also scheduled for Saturday, was rained out and will be made up Monday morning. The Panthers will face Northeastern and Cornell Sunday.
Mike Oiler gave up just one earned run in six innings to claim his first victory of the season.
