MILWAUKEE - The UWM women's tennis team dropped a hard-fought match to Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis on Saturday in Green Bay. The Jaguars took all six singles matches in straight sets to give them a 7-0 victory.
"We played well, we worked hard in every point in every game," head coach Erin Grambow said. "It was a great match to help us get prepared for this weekend and a conference match."
Senior Shauna Jansen came closest to winning a set, losing the first set 7-5 before dropping the second, 6-1.
The doubles team of junior Molly Caulk and freshman Megan Brown almost pulled off a victory, falling 9-8 in their doubles match.
The Panthers were to have played UW-Green Bay later in the afternoon, but that match was postponed due to the weather. The match will be made up, although a makeup date has not been announced.
UWM returns to the courts for their only home matches of the fall season this weekend as they take on Western Illinois on Friday and Wright State on Saturday. Both matches will be played at Nicolet High School in Glendale.
