Lake Charles, La. -- The UWM baseball team fell to 0-2 on the season with a 17-3 loss against New Orleans on Saturday in the second day of action at the Lake Classic Tournament.
New Orleans broke open a 5-1 game with 12 runs in the last four innings.
Senior captain Andy Neary picked up the loss for the Panthers, pitching five and a third innings and allowing five earned runs. He walked none and struck out three.
Eric Goerdt, Rob Erickson and Aaron Bushong pitched in relief.
The Panther offense was paced by senior designated hitter Chad Sadowski, who went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs and a stolen base. Junior outfielder Darin Haugom went 2-for-3 at the plate.
UWM plays Oral Roberts on Sunday in the final day of the tournament.
