Lake Charles, La. - The UWM baseball team kicked off its season with a 10-4 loss at McNeese State on Friday night.

Chad Sadowski took the loss on the mound for the Panthers. The senior pitched five innings, allowing eight hits and six earned runs. He walked three batters and struck out six.

Sophomores Matt Fiesleben and Brian Gould and senior Corey Clemmons pitched in relief.

The Panther offense was led by junior Matt Houck (2-for-4 with an RBI), senior J.J. Kotarak (2-for-4 with a double) and junior Darin Haugom (2-for-4 with a triple).

The Panthers play New Orleans on Saturday in day two of the Lake Charles Classic. UWM plays Oral Roberts on Sunday.
