Milwaukee - The UWM men?s basketball squad continued its fine play Saturday night as the Panthers topped Fairleigh Dickinson, 76-59, at the Klotsche Center. UWM moves to 5-3, continuing its best season since the 1992-93 campaign.
?They took away our inside game, but we used our basketball IQ and found the perimeter game,? said Ryan. "Our players bought the system and that what works."
Ronnie Jones led all scorers with 19 points on 5-7 shooting, including 4-5 behind the arc. Clay Tucker scored 18 points and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. Chad Angeli and Kalombo Kadima also scored in double-figures with 13 and 10, respectively. Angeli added six boards, and Kadima dished-out five assists.
The Panthers held the Knights? best player, Chris Ekwe, who had been averaging 16 points and nearly eight rebounds, to just 12 points and five boards.
"The team found each other, and we got good looks," said Tucker. ?You have to take what the defense gives you."
UWM plays host to Bethune-Cookman on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at the Klotsche Center. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
