MILWAUKEE - The UWM men's soccer team fell to 7-5-2 on the season with a 3-0 loss to Creighton on Saturday at Uihlein Soccer Park.
The Blue Jays, ranked No. 17 in the nation in the coaches' poll, improve to 6-2-1 on the season.
"In a game where the conditions are advantageous to good soccer and you are playing against a quality opponent, you need to play to the best of your ability," said UWM coach Louis Bennett. "We played very well in spells, but other times, we played poorly."
Creighton's Mike Tranchilla scored in the 41st and 72nd minutes for the Blue Jays. Kyle Stannard added a goal in the 90th minute.
UWM freshman goalkeeper Chris Dadaian recorded five saves in a losing effort. The Panthers were outshot, 11-6.
"We're not a top 20 team like them," said Bennett. "But we are a top 60 team. The difference is two or three opportunities that we were unable to finish."
The Panthers travel to Loyola on Wednesday for an MCC match-up. Gametime is 7:00 p.m.
