Mike Porcaro is back for his fourth overall season on the Milwaukee baseball staff in 2026 and will serve in the role of Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.
Porcaro was previously an assistant with Milwaukee during the 2021 season, where he served as infield coach and assistant hitting coach during his initial tenure with the Panthers. In his three seasons with the Panthers, Porcaro has seen 11 student-athletes earn All-League honors from the Horizon League, including seven first-team selections.
Â
Most recently, Porcaro served as the Director of Baseball Operations at Arizona State University, where he was responsible for the program’s travel, gameday operations, arranging of recruit visits, and was also responsible for regular reporting with the Arizona State senior administration, business office, and compliance office.
Â
Porcaro spent two seasons in 2020 and 2021 as the Field Manager of the Kenosha Kingfish of the Northwoods League, leading the team to 56 wins over that span despite the 2020 season being shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Â
He also both played and coached in the Northwoods League having played two seasons for the Eau Claire Express (2013-14) and in 2015 he was an assistant coach for the same organization.
Porcaro got his start in collegiate coaching when he spent four seasons on the staff at nearby Milwaukee School of Engineering. He spent the 2020 as the Associate Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator, while serving the team as an assistant coach from the 2017 through 2019 campaigns.
Â
One of just three baseball players to be named All-American in Milwaukee program history, Porcaro closed out his Milwaukee career (2012-2015) with league postseason honors for the third time in 2015. He was named Second-Team All-Horizon League after spending most of the season as the everyday designated hitter due to injury. He hit .296 on the season, but upped that to .356 in league play, scoring 43 runs, recording 56 hits, 11 doubles, 32 RBI and a .430 on-base percentage.
Â
Porcaro was the 2013 Horizon League Player of the Year, earning Honorable Mention All-American status that season after leading the team and league with a .364 batting average. He became the 11th player to ever record over 200 hits in a Milwaukee uniform, finishing his career ninth all-time with 215 while also finishing fourth in program history with 143 runs scored. He batted .312 in 192 collegiate games, driving in 117 runs.
