Cullen Murray joined the Milwaukee Athletics Sports Medicine staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in 2026.
Murray brings experience from both the NCAA Division I and Division III levels. Prior to arriving in Milwaukee, Murray served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Central Michigan University, where he provided medical coverage for the men's basketball program, coordinated specialist care for student-athletes, and worked alongside sports medicine and performance staff to support athlete health and performance.
Before his time at Central Michigan, Murray spent four years at Carthage College as an Athletic Trainer and Strength & Conditioning Coach. During his tenure, he oversaw the medical care of more than 130 student-athletes across men's and women's soccer, men's basketball, and baseball. He also directed men's basketball strength and conditioning programming, coordinated medical and physical therapy appointments, assisted with return-to-play protocols, and served as a mentor to fellow staff members and graduate athletic training students.
A native of Wisconsin, Murray earned his master’s degree in athletic training from Marquette University in 2021 after completing clinical experiences with the Golden Eagles men's basketball program as well as local high schools.
He received his bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sport Science from UW–La Crosse, where he also served as a teaching assistant in cadaver laboratories and was a multiple-time Dean's List honoree.
Murray is a Board of Certification (BOC) Certified Athletic Trainer. He is also certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association and holds a Level 1 Dry Needling certification.
