Annika Martensson was promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Event Management in May of 2025.
Martensson joined the Panthers as Director of Facilities and Event Operations in November of 2022 before moving to Assistant AD for Facilities & Event Management. In her new role, she will take on a larger role in the External Operations management area and will also work as a sport supervisor in addition to taking on larger facility and capital work.
Before coming to Milwaukee, Martensson spent a year as the Elite Clubs National League Boys Events Manager in Richmond, Virginia, serving as the one-site event lead and point of contact for 17 ECNL National Events.Â
Prior to that, Martensson served as Athletic Event Management Graduate Assistant at North Carolina from August 2020 to May 2021. With the Tar Heels, Martensson served as the 2021 ACC Fencing Championship Tournament Co-Director and was the game day manager for women's gymnastics, and the men's and women's tennis programs. Additionally, she served as secondary game manager for the soccer and lacrosse programs.Â
Martensson, a Milwaukee native, played soccer at Carleton College and worked in the athletic department all four years, helping in a variety of different fashions. She received her bachelor's degree from Carleton in 2019 and obtained her master's degree from the University of North Carolina in 2021.Â
