Biography
2009-10: Served as a team captain ... ended her career on a high note, placing fifth in the 1650 freestyle, seventh in the 1000 free and 11th in the 500 free at the Horizon League Championships, setting career-best times in all three events at the meet ... knocked over 10 seconds off her previous-best in the 1000 and over 40 seconds in the mile ... also established a career-best in the 200 free at the meet ... second in the 500 free against Wheaton College Nov. 6 ... second again the next day against UIC/Butler, while also taking second in the 1000 free ... second in the 1000 free and third in the 500 free against the University of Chicago Jan. 23 ... claimed her only win of the season against Valparaiso Nov. 21, coming in the 200 free.
2008-09: Took ninth in the 1000 freestyle, 12th in the 1650 free and 14th in the 500 free at the Horizon League Championships ... set career-best times in each of those events, as well as in the 200 free ... recorded a victory in the 1000 free against Valparaiso Nov. 22 ... second in the 1000 free in meets against IUPUI/Xavier/Saint Louis Nov. 14, the University of Chicago Jan. 23 and against Green Bay Feb. 7 ... also placed fourth in the 500 free against the Phoenix ... third in the 500 free in win over UIC/North Dakota/Butler Nov. 8.
2007-08: Finished 15th in the 1000 freestyle and 16th in the 500 free at the Horizon League Championships, setting a season-best in the 500 and 200 free at the meet ... won the 1000 free against Western Illinois Jan. 26 ... took third in the 1000 free in a career-best time and third in the 500 free in big UWM win versus Green Bay Feb. 2 ... fourth in the 200 free and sixth in the 100 free against Wheaton Nov. 2 ... named to the 2008 Horizon League Academic Honor Roll.
2006-07: Swam in the 100, 200 and 500 freestyles at the Horizon League Championships, setting a season-best in the 100 free ... recorded 11 top-10 finishes on the season ... had a great meet against Valparaiso Nov. 11, winning the 500 free and taking second in the 200 free ... recorded season-best times in both the 200 and 500 free at the Wheaton Invitational Dec. 2.
High School: State qualifier and letterwinner all four years ... named team MVP as a senior, junior and sophomore ... Academic All-State in 2006 ... Fox Valley Association Conference and Appleton Post Crescent Swimmer of the Year ... also an all-state honorable mention selection ... holds school records in 100, 200 and 500 freestyle, the 200 free and 200 medley relay and the 400 free relay ... two-time state qualifier for the track team ... National Honor Society member.
Personal: Daughter of Mark and Jean Westfall ... earned the "Gold Tassel" senior graduation award in high school ... has volunteered at the local soup kitchen and church nursery ... a communications major at UWM.
