2020-21 Women's Soccer Roster
Biography
MILWAUKEE - For the first time in program history, the Milwaukee women's soccer team has a nine-year old on the roster.
Meet Jordan Moore. Not only is Jordan now a Panther, but she is also an extraordinary kid.
"Our staff and entire team are incredibly excited to have Jordan join our Milwaukee women's soccer family," head coach Troy Fabiano said. "She embodies many of the characteristics of our program with her toughness and perseverance and we know she is going to make a tremendous impact on our team."
Jordan lives in Franklin, Wisconsin with her mom Sarah, her dad Joseph, and her younger siblings Jayla and Joseph, Jr.
At birth, Jordan was diagnosed with a rare brain condition classified as Vein of Galen Malformations (VOGM). VOGMs are rare vascular malformations that develop in the brain before birth. Her treatments have included shunts, medications and eight surgeries to help close the malformed vessels in her brain.
But Jordan is tough and refuses to let her diagnosis define her or hold her back. She is very optimistic and kind. She loves reading and being a great role model for her younger siblings.
"We are so proud of Jordan and everything that she has overcome," Jordan's mom, Sarah, said. "It is so amazing to see her be part of a college sports team, especially one as amazing as this one! This opportunity gives Jordan a chance to be a kid … to not think about surgeries or hospital stays and to have friends to dance with and talk to when life gets rough."
Jordan was shy at first, but had a great time the day she first met the Milwaukee women's soccer team and staff on a cold spring day in early April.
With her family sitting next to her, joined by her new MKE teammates, Jordan signed her National Letter of Intent to become part of the Milwaukee women's soccer program. The squad enjoyed the honor of adding a fun new teammate to its lineup on Monday afternoon through Team IMPACT.
"Jordan wouldn't have gotten the opportunity to experience the comradery that comes with sports teams if it weren't for Team IMPACT," Jordan's mom, Sarah, said. "We are so thankful for this opportunity!"
Partnering with Team IMPACT has allowed the Panthers an opportunity to have an influence on a child's life. Team IMPACT is a national nonprofit that connects children facing serious and chronic illnesses with college athletic teams, forming life-long bonds and life-changing outcomes. In welcoming Jordan to the team, women's soccer becomes another member of the Team IMPACT family.
Across the nation, Team IMPACT harnesses the power of teamwork by matching courageous kids with college athletic teams. Team IMPACT children are drafted onto local college athletic teams and become an official member of the team for the duration of their treatment and beyond. They attend practices, games and other events as an honorary member of the team.
