Katlin Genthe

2017 marks the second year for Katlin Genthe as an assistant coach for the Milwaukee track & field team, primarily coaching pole vault.

Her second season saw breakthrough results for the young Panther pole vaulters, nearly earning a trip to the NCAA Championships. Karlie Place swept the Horizon League pole vault titles and qualified for the NCAA West Regional. Despite dealing with weather issues all weekend, Place, who is just a sophomore, just missed a qualifying spot at Nationals. Place also already broke the school's outdoor pole vault record and sits third in the all-time indoor ranks.

In her first season at UWM, Genthe helped the Panthers' young group post a pair of top-six finishes at the Horizon League Championships. Despite only having three vaulters on the roster, Milwaukee had one of the best in the league in freshman Karlie Place. Genthe helped Place close out the season third in the league at the outdoor meet, already ranked seventh all-time in program history in indoor pole vault.

Genthe comes to MIlwaukee after a solid four-year career at UW-La Crosse. While with the Eagles, Genthe was a standout pole vaulter, highlighting her career with a second-place finish at the very deep WIAC Championships and twice finishing in the top-14 at the NCAA Championships.
