Biography

2013-14: Came in 14th in both the 200 breaststroke and the 400 IM and was 24th in the 200 IM at the Horizon League Championships ... finished third in both breaststrokes in season-opener Oct. 19 vs. Grand Valley State ... was runner-up in the 200 breast and fourth in the 50 free at Valpo Oct. 25 ... one day later, was third in the 200 IM and the 100 breast at Wright State ... touched the wall fourth in the 400 IM over Wheaton Nov. 1 ... took second in the 200 IM at the Stevens Point Border Battle ... placed second in the 200 breast and fourth in the 100 breast against Northwestern Jan. 31 ... claimed fifth in the 200 IM in a win over Green Bay Feb. 1 ... took third in the 100 breast and fourth in the 400 IM against Wisconsin Feb. 7.

2012-13: Placed 11th in the 200 breaststroke, 15th in the 100 breast and 16th in the 200 IM at the Horizon League Championships as a freshman ... was second in the 200 breast, third in the 200 IM and fourth in the 100 breast in collegiate debut against Wisconsin ... won the 200 breast one week later in a win over Grand Valley State ... posted 17 top-five finishes in first year, including 11 in the top three ... also swam the 200 free once on the season, taking third against Wheaton Nov. 2.

High School: Went to the state meet all four years while at Waukesha West and made big jumps his final year ... as a senior, finished fourth in the 100 breaststroke, seventh in the 200 IM, and also anchored both the 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams ... team MVP twice and served as team captain ... won the team's Wolverine award as a senior ... holds the school record in both IM and breaststroke events.

Personal: Son of Dave and Sandi Melville ... father swam at Wisconsin ... chose UWM because he liked the atmosphere and community of the team ... lists winning club state in the 200 breaststroke as most memorable sports experience ... born June 16, 1994.
