2009: Earned Second Team All-Horizon League honors as Milwaukee's primray designated hitter ... hit .375 on the season - second on the team - and made 47 starts in 53 games played ... set career-highs with 35 runs scored and 33 runs batted in ... finished second on the team in multi-hit (21) and multi-RBI (9) games ... nearly became just the sixth player in program history to record 200 career hits, finishing with 196 ... also finished fourth all-time with 47 career doubles ... finished fourth in the Horizon League in batting average and fifth in on-base percentage ... was leading the league in average for the majority of the first half of the season ... recorded three hits and drove in two against Eastern Illinois March 7 ... set career-high with four hits against Austin Peay March 13 ... hit his only home run of the season against APSU the next day ... had three-hit games against Valparaiso March 27 and UIC April 4 ... named Horizon League Player of the Week March 30 after batting .545 for the week ... three hits and two RBI's in win over Youngstown State April 18 ... three more hits, including two doubles, in victory over Northwestern April 29 ... tied career-high with four hits and drove in a personal-best four at Cleveland State May 3 ... drove in four more runs in comeback win over Northern Illinois May 12 ... went 7-for-14 with five runs scored and three driven in during series sweep of Butler May 14-15, including a game-winning walk-off bunt with two outs in the ninth in the opener ... batted .410 with runners on base, .422 versus lefties and .448 with runners in scoring position.

 

2008: Batted .294 as a junior, making 59 starts in 60 games on the season ... scored 27 runs and drove in a career-best 30 ... started the season with a bang, becoming the first UWM player to ever hit two home runs in a season opener while driving in three Feb. 22 vs. Jacksonville ... had hits in the first three games of the season to conclude career-best 19 game hit streak ... 61-game errorless streak ended in early March ... went 199 chances without a miscue ... 3-for-4 with two runs scored at Centenary March 8 ... collected four hits and drove in four in doubleheader vs. Cleveland State April 11 ... three more hits against CSU April 19 ... career-high four hits at Wright State April 25 ... three hits against WSU April 26 started an eight-game hit streak ... drove in three against Youngstown State May 15 ... drove in three with two doubles and scored three runs in win over Wright State at Horizon League Tournament May 22 ... became first UWM player to ever be named to the preseason Brooks Wallace Award Watch List.

2007: Had a breakout season as a sophomore, leading the team with a .396 average that ranked sixth in the Horizon League ... named All-Horizon League First Team as a utility player ... made 34 starts in 45 games, scoring 24 runs, driving in 29 and recording 21 doubles ... made starts at 3B, 1B, C and DH and did not make an error in the field in 156 chances ... his doubles total was second-best all-time and helped him rank seventh in the NCAA in doubles per game ... batted .458 (49-for-107) from April 1 through the end of the season ... will carry a 16-game hitting streak into the 2008 season, batting .440 in the stretch ... recorded a season-best three hits in six games ... was 3-for-3 against Youngstown State April 15 ... went 3-for-3 with three runs batted in against Northern Illinois May 2 ... drove in three against Cleveland State May 5 ... had two hits and tied the school record with three stolen bases against MSOE May 9 ... was 3-for-4 and tied the Horizon League Tournament record with six RBI's against Youngstown State May 23 ... hit .474 (9-for-19) at the league tournament with five doubles, six runs and eight RBI ... named Horizon League Scholar-Athlete of the Week May 30 ... hit .411 versus righties and .360 with runners in scoring position.

2006: Made five starts in 22 appearances as a freshman, batting .226 on the year ... earned first collegiate start against Saint Mary's (Calif.) Feb. 12 and responded with first hit and run scored ... knocked in a run against Eastern Illinois Feb. 25 ... went 2-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored in win over Chicago State April 12 ... had two hits and two runs batted in against Chicago State May 16 ... hit .333 with runners in scoring position.

High School: A four-year standout on the diamond at Monona Grove ... named First Team All-Badger Conference, all-district and First Team All-State by the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association as a senior ... that followed a junior campaign where he was named second team all-state, all-district and all-conference after batting .461 with two home runs, 20 RBI, and a .697 slugging percentage ... earned honorable mention all-state honors as a sophomore to go along with all-conference and all-district accolades after batting .449 with 28 runs batted in ... a two-sport star in high school, received all-conference, all-region and all-area honors as a linebacker and tight end on the football field ... was tabbed Capital Times Prep Football Player of the Year, Wisconsin State Journal Player of the Year, WFCA All-State, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel All-State and Associated Press All-State as a senior ... also exceled in the classroom, where he was a member of the National Honor Society, the honor roll and National Society of High School Scholars.

Personal: Parents Mike and Terri Groves ... majoring in marketing ... named Team MVP for the Eau Claire Cavaliers in the summer of 2007, batting .339 with 47 RBI's in 54 games ... played for the Madison Mallards in the summer of 2008 ... lists making it to the state championship in football as a senior as his most memorable sports experience ... has helped volunteer at community food drives, Red Cross Blood Drive and as a youth football camp assistant ... born March 11, 1987.
