2026-27 Men's Basketball Roster
Biography
Al Amadou of Philadelphia, Pa., will transfer into the program and play for the Milwaukee men's basketball team next season, with the signing made official by head coach Bart Lundy today.
Â
Amadou heads to Milwaukee as a transfer from Saint Joseph's, spending one season with the Hawks. The former four-star recruit began his college career at Marquette, redshirting the 2024-25 campaign after appearing in 14 games the prior season as a freshman.
Â
"We are excited to announce the addition of Al Amadou to our men's basketball program," Lundy said. "He is an elite athlete for his size. He is a high-energy, high-character young man that needs an opportunity in an environment to flourish and to reach his potential. He has a great skillset and is complete inside and out. Defensively, he is switchable and can guard a perimeter player, as well as protect the rim. We have high expectations for Al and are excited to get started and be a part of his journey."
Â
Amadou's playing time was limited this past winter following a change at head coach for the Saint Joseph's program. In 11 games he shot 54 percent from the floor in 6.1 minutes a night.
Â
The 6-foot-9, 205-pound forward was highly-regarded coming out of high school, where he was listed as the No. 119 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings, as well as the No. 3 recruit from Pennsylvania.
Â
He made appearances in 14 games as a freshman at Marquette, scoring a season-high six points in a win over Southern in late November. He shot 67 percent from the floor overall and was named to the Big East All-Academic Team on a pair of occasions.
Â
Amadou played his final two prep seasons at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, leaving as the program's all-time leading shot blocker, finishing with 235 blocks. He was named All-Inter Academic League First Team and was selected as a member of the Philadelphia Sports Digest All-State Team his final season. That winter, he averaged 10.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 5.0 blocks per game. As a junior, he led the Blue Devils to a 16-8 overall record, earning All-Inter Academic League Second Team honors. Amadou was a member of the Philly Pride on the AAU circuit and also attended Quakertown High School and Bishop McDevitt High School in his career.
