Biography

2009: Earned First Team All-Horizon League honors as a utility player, starting all 55 games on the season - 36 at first base and 19 in the outfield ... just the second-ever Milwaukee player to be named to the Preseason Brooks Wallace Award (National Player of the Year) Watch List ... batted .320 on the season, scoring 39 times and driving in 39 runs ... second on the team and fifth in the league with eight home runs ... also finished seventh in the league in total bases and eighth in RBI ... enjoyed an 11-game hitting streak April 7-23, going 20-for-36 (.556) with 14 runs and 14 RBI in the stretch ... also ended the season (and his career) on a 10-game hitting streak ... nearly went the whole season without an error, had a streak of 60 games and 390 chances without one end May 23 against UIC ... went 3-for-5 with five RBI to help UWM knock off No. 25 Michigan Feb. 27, its first win over a ranked team since 2005 ... went 4-for-4 with four runs scored and drove in three against Wright State April 10 ... had three-hit games against Cleveland State May 3 and again against the Vikings May 22 ... his 50 career doubles rank third all-time for career doubles at UWM.

 

2008: Earned Second Team All-Horizon League honors at first base with a breakout season ... led the team with a .364 batting average, appearing in all 61 games while making 58 starts ... 61 games played set a new season record at UWM ... batted .390 in league play ... scored 42 runs, had 26 doubles, hit six home runs and drove in 51 ... also led team in walks (29) and slugging percentage (.564) ... set career-highs in every category, finishing in the top 10 in numerous rankings in the Horizon League: doubles (second), walks (third), hits (sixth), total bases (sixth), on-base percentage (sixth), slugging (seventh), runs batted in (eighth) and average (10th) ... finished seventh in the NCAA with his 26 doubles, one of three players for UWM with 20-plus ... hit safely in eight of the first 10 games of the year and also enjoyed a 16-game hitting streak April 15-May 6 ... went 25-for-57 (.439) in the streak ... had three hits, two doubles and drove in two at Centenary March 8 ... three hits, including two doubles, and drove in three vs. Cleveland State April 11 ... had season-high three hits on seven occasions ... drove in career-high six runs and blasted two home runs against Youngstown State May 16 ... had 19 hits in final 39 at bats of season, earning Horizon League All-Tournament honors after going 11-for-26 at the plate.

2007: Appeared in 50 games in his first season at UWM, making 35 starts ... hit .248 with 26 runs scored and 22 runs batted in ... added eight doubles and four home runs ... ended the year with a season-high five game hitting streak (7-for-19, 5 RBI) ... recorded his first hit as a Panther in a pinch-hitting role against #21 Kentucky March 2 ... hit his first home run of the season after a 12-pitch at-bat at Hawaii March 17 ... set season-highs with three hits (including a home run) and three runs batted in while scoring twice against UIC April 17 ... went 2-for-2 with two runs scored against Carroll May 1 ... also 2-for-2 with two runs and two walks versus Chicago State May 8 ... recorded two hits against Butler May 18 ... scored a season-high three runs against Youngstown State May 23 ... had five hits and drove in five at the Horizon League Tournament.

Prior to UWM: Transferred to Milwaukee from Alabama Southern Community College ... played first base for the Eagles, lettering twice ... hit .321 in 12 games, with two home runs and 10 runs batted in before redshirting as a sophomore ... batted .324 and had two home runs and 20 RBI as a freshman, playing 39 games.

High School: Lettered three years, playing first base and outfield ... also pitched ... had a stellar career, earning first team all-state honors in 2004 and 2003, and honorable mention in 2002 ... as a hitter, holds Mayville school career records in average (.438), on-base percentage (.604), slugging percentage (.830), runs, hits, home runs and runs batted in ... on the mound, finished second in his career in wins (20), innings (160.3), strikeouts (157) and ERA (2.14) ... was also an all-state defensive end on the football field, lettering three times.

Personal: Son of Greg and Colleen Hunt ... majoring in environmental science ... lists hunting, fishing and icefishing as hobbies ... career goal is to work on Lake Michigan to preserve what we have for tomorrow ... helped with community clean-up at UWM last fall ... played for the Sheboygan A's in the summer of 2008, leading the team with his .422 average and in home runs ... born Oct. 29, 1985.
