Biography

2007: Only player to start all 57 games on the season, batted .292 with 35 runs scored and 33 runs batted in ... earned All-Horizon League second team honors for the third time in his career ... established new UWM career marks for games played (210), at bats (737) and doubles (58), and also finished second in career hits and total bases ... went 7-for-18 at the Horizon League Tournament, scoring six runs ... had season-highs of four hits (against Cleveland State May 5) and five RBI's (in a win over MSOE May 9) ... was named a member of both the Horizon Academic All-League Team and Honor Roll ... signed a one-year contract to play in the New York State League in June.

 

2006: Started all 49 games he appeared in, earning All-Horizon League Second Team honors ... set career-highs with 11 home runs, 18 doubles and 48 runs batted in while batting .316 ... after a slow start, went 16-for-24 in a six-game stretch March 18-25 ... started with a 4-for-4 effort against Akron ... also had three hits and four RBI against Western Kentucky March 19 and four RBI against UIC March 25 ... named Horizon League Player of the Week following the offensive display ... had one of the most prolific games in UWM history against Chicago State April 12, tying school marks with six hits and eight runs batted in, including a double and two home runs - one a grand slam - while scoring four runs ... came through twice against the Cougars again on May 7, belting a home run in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game and tying the contest in extra-innings with a sac fly before UWM would go on to win ... ranked second in the league in home runs (11), fifth in slugging (.591) and fifth in runs batted in (48) ... Horizon League Academic Honor Roll member.

2005: Hit .256 as a sophomore, making 51 starts in 54 games ... had 18 extra-base hits, including a team-leading four triples ... tied for second in the Horizon League with his triple total ... went 3-for-5 with two doubles against Arkansas State March 4 ... tied season-high with three hits versus Illinois State April 3 ... collected a season-high four runs batted in with a 3-for-4 performance against UIC April 15, finishing a double short of the cycle ... also homered against Northwestern April 26 ... enjoyed an eight-game hitting streak April 26- May 7 ... had three hits and scored twice against Wright State May 6.

2004: Second-Team All-Horizon League ... Horizon League All-Newcomer Team ... burst on the scene as a redshirt freshman ... batted .324 on the season with 20 extra base hits ... ripped 11 doubles with a season high three triples ... homered six times while driving in 36 runs ... also notched seven steals, second-best on the team ... homered and doubled in his second career game at Kansas March 6 ... homered the next day versus the Jayhawks ... went three-for-five with four RBI and a homer versus Indiana March 21 ... posted eight hits during a five-game hitting streak April 11 through April 17 ... notched five hits with five runs and five RBI, including a long home run in double header sweep of Chicago State May 4 ... homered and drove in two runs in a victory over Southern Illinois on May 16 ... recorded seven hits in 11 at bats (.636) at the Horizon League Tournament ... finished the season on a 15-game hitting streak ... tallied seven doubles, two triples, and two homers with 14 RBI during the streak.

2003: Redshirted and retained four years of eligibility.

High School: Was a three-year letterwinner at Menomonee Falls High School ... was a first team all-conference and all-district honoree ... also lettered twice in football as a defensive and tight end and once in track as a sprinter ... earned all-conference second-team honors in football.

Personal: Son of Jim and Renee McCoy ... played in the Northwoods League for the La Crosse Loggers in the summer of 2006 ... born March 27, 1984 ... biochemistry major in school.
