Mike Goetz returns to the Milwaukee coaching staff for his 11th season in 2020. Goetz will again serve as the Director of Baseball Operations following two seasons as the volunteer assistant and his first three years as an assistant coach, where he worked as first base coach as well as with the outfielders and baserunning.

Goetz officially retired as a player in 2009, spending his final season with the Frontier League’s Rockford (Ill.) RiverHawks. He spent three additional years in professional baseball prior to that tenure in Rockford.

The Milwaukee Brewers drafted him after he became UWM’s first-ever All-American in 2005, leading the nation with a .493 average. He spent the 2006 season with the Arizona League Brewers, batting .289 and leading the league with 31 stolen bases.

Next, he batted .318 for the Helena Brewers in 2007 and was called up to the Hunstville Stars at the end of the season. He spent the majority of the 2008 season with the Traverse City Beach Bums before he was signed midseason by the Lynchburg Hillcats of the Pittsburgh Pirates farm system. Goetz carried a batting average of over .400 into mid-June and led the team with 22 multi-hit games.
