The relatively young tradition of Homecoming at UWM was established to provide students, faculty/staff, alumni, and supporters with the opportunity to showcase their passion and pride for UWM, while strengthening their connection and engagement to the university. New for 2025, the Homecoming celebration moves from fall to winter and features a week’s worth of ways to show your Panther Pride!

MONDAY | FEBRUARY 10

Bart Lundy Basketball Show (Details)
Gasthaus in the UWM Student Union – 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Be sure to join us in person at the Gasthaus inside the UWM Student Union from 6-7 pm on select Monday nights throughout the season for the “Bart Lundy Basketball Show”. The show will feature inside analysis from Coach Lundy as he breaks down the Homecoming matchup with Wright State.

UWM Indoor Triathlon (Details)
Klotsche Center and Pavilion – February 10 to February 21

Grab your goggles, pump up your bike tires, and lace up your running shoes! UREC is excited to announce our first-ever extended period triathlon! From February 10-21, you’ll be able to log distances indoors using UREC equipment and facilities. Entrants of the triathlon will receive an exclusive T-shirt upon completion of the sprint triathlon format.

Homecoming Pep Rally (Details)
UWM Student Union Concourse – 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm

There’s only one way to get fired up for Homecoming and that’s with a Pep Rally! Join Pounce, the Pep Band, Cheerleading Squad and the UWM Dance Team for this fun event. Enjoy games, giveaways, and plenty of Panther pride! Plus, hear from members of the Panther men’s and women’s basketball teams in advance of their Homecoming games at approximately 1:30 pm.

4th Annual Darwin Day (Details)
Thomas A. Greene Geological Museum in Lapham Hall – 10:00 am to 3:00 pm

Darwin Day is a free event and open to guests of all ages. Many wonderful geological and biological specimens will be available to observe, with volunteers on hand to explain their fascinating histories. Learning tables focusing on the natural history of Wisconsin and the contributions of Thomas A. Greene to our understanding of local Wisconsin geology will be spread throughout Lapham Hall, with many rare and beautiful samples on display from the Thomas A. Greene geological collection. Other activities will be available throughout the day, including presentations by UWM scientists and guest speakers, a scavenger hunt, activities for kids, and booths featuring many community organizations. There’s something for everyone, so bring the family and have a full day of science fun!

Panther Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony (Details)
Pilot Project Brewing Milwaukee – 11:30 am

A pair of storied volleyball sisters, two Milwaukee basketball standouts, and a former Panther who starred for the track & field program over 60 years ago will be inducted into the Bud K. Haidet Milwaukee Athletics Hall of Fame. The members of the Class of 2024 include Leanne Williamson [Felsing] (volleyball) and Lauren Bartsch [Felsing] (volleyball), Ed McCants (men's basketball), and Ashley Green (women's basketball). Wally Winter (track & field), who passed away in 1978 at an early age, will be honored posthumously. The Hall of Fame ceremony has regularly been held in November but will be moved this year to February to be held in conjunction with UWM Homecoming.

Anti-Valentine’s Day (Details)

Join us at the Rec Center in the Student Union for an evening of activities you can do on your own or with friends! Men’s Basketball vs. Northern Kentucky (Details)
UWM Panther Arena – 2:00 pm

Close out the weekend with the Panthers as they host Northern Kentucky for a matinee at UWM Panther Arena. Tipoff is 2pm. At halftime, Milwaukee Athletics will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the men’s basketball team’s appearance in the Sweet Sixteen.
