Cross Country: Crossed the line as Milwaukee's third finisher at the Horizon League Championships ... placed 36th at 27:09.5 ... posted a personal-best 8k time of 26:11.4 at the Jaguar Classic on September 10 and finished 33rd ... opened the season at the Vic Godfrey Open, placing 33rd with a time of 19:56.5 in the 6k.
2020-21 Season
2021 Outdoor: Set three new personal bests in three events during the outdoor season... Crossed the line in 33:22.20 in the 10,000-meter race at the Horizon League Outdoor Championships for a new PR... Knocked off over five seconds in his 5,000-meter time to finish 15th at the Gibson Invitational... Also set a PR at the Green and White Invite on April 24, finishing the 1,500-meter race in 4:07.71.
2021 Indoor: Competed at three events throughout the season in distance... Opened the season at the home John Tierney Classic on January 23, placing second in the 3,000-meter race in 8:48.83... Finished fourth in the 5,000-meter race (15:44.31) on February 14 at the Panther Tune-Up... Wrapped up the indoor season at the Horizon League Championships, placing 20th in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 15:44.31.
Cross Country: Scored for the Panthers at the Horizon League Championship, placing 29th in the field of 66 runners... Crossed the finish line in 27:15.5 on March 4 to help Milwaukee place fourth.
2019-20 Season
2020 Outdoor: Season cut short due to COVID-19 pandemic.
2020 Indoor: Finished 12th in the 3000m (8:52.13) and 18th in the 5000m (16:00.47) at the Horizon League Championships ... opened the season with a second-place finish in the 3000m at the Tierney Classic (Jan. 18) in a PR time of 8:45.40 ... ran the mile once this season to a PR time of 4:27.47 at the ONU Invite (Feb. 1) ... also ran the 5000m to a PR time of 15:10.26 at the GVSU Big Meet (Feb. 14)
2019 Cross Country: Placed 26th at the Horizon League Championships (Nov. 2) in 25:15.3 … opened the season at the Queen City Invite (Aug. 31), placing 52nd in 16:11.2 … was the second Panther at the NIU Huskie Challenge (Sep. 6), finishing 8th in 26:30.0 … was the third Panther to cross the line at the Loyola Lakefront Invite (Sep. 28), placing 51st in 26:09.4 … also competed at Pre-Nationals (Oct. 19), scoring for MKE with a 67th-place finish in a personal record 8K time of 26:24.2 … capped the season off with a 143rd-plcae finish with a personal record 10K time of 22:40.9 at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional meet (Nov. 15)
2018-19 Season
2019 Outdoor: Ran in three meets during the outdoor season ... started things off by taking 23rd in the 5000m in 16:33.41 at the Wheaton Invitational April 6 ... dropped nearly a minute off that time to 15:41.04 at Kentucky April 20 ... just four days later, crossed the line in 4:13.42 at Marquette.
2019 Indoor: Competed in three meets in his first track season ... made his collegiate track debut Jan. 19 at the home Tierney Classic, taking 12th in the 3k in 9:18.34 ... lowered that time to 9:03.16 at the GVSU Big Meet Feb. 9 ... one week later, came in fourth in the same event at the Panther Tune-Up.
2018 Cross Country: Helped Milwaukee bring home a runner-up trophy at the Horizon League Championships, taking 54th overall in 27:08.5 ... made his collegiate debut Sept. 1, taking sixth overall in a win at Green Bay ... clocked his first collegiate 8k in 27:56.9 one week later at the Vic Godfrey Invite ... turned in a season-best time of 26:30.4 with a 30th-place finish at the Bradley Classic Oct. 12.
High School
Comes to Milwaukee after a highly decorated high school career at Madison La Follette ... after making it to the state cross country championships as a freshman, Freitag helped the Lancers to a runner-up finish at state as a sophomore ... followed that up with 12th and 16th-place finishes at state his final two years, finishing with a career-best time of 15:57.3 ... in track, he has also advanced to the state meet four times, taking seventh in the 3200m as a junior ... a high honors student all four years.
