High School: A First-Team All-Eastern Valley selection as a senior ... led the Irish with a .406 average and set a school record with 39 hits as the team’s catcher ... a talented catcher, he also holds school marks for putouts in a season (194) and in a career (429) and allowed just seven steals on the season ... was named second-team all-league as a junior, helping his team to a conference title ... in addition to his work on the diamond, he was also a four-year letterwinner on the football team, winning a conference crown as a senior.
