Finished the year at the Horizon League Championships, finished eighth with a time of 1:51.04 in the 200 fly, also competed in the 100 fly (48.89, 14th) and 50 free (21.54, 28th) settting season bests in both... competed at the IU Indy House of Champions meet, placing ninth in the 200 fly with his best time of the season (1:49.12)... opened the year at the Wisconsin Showcase October 19, taking second in the 100 and 200 fly... won the 200 fly and took second in the 100 fly at Stevens Point on January 31... finished second in the 200 fly against Green Bay on January 25.
2023-24 (Sophomore)
Closed the season at the Horizon League Championships, placing 9th in the 200 fly (season best 1:49.74), 13th in the 100 fly (49.33), and 23rd in the 50 free (21.44)... opened the season October 21 at the Wisconsin Showcase, taking second in the 100 fly and third in the 200 free with a season best 1:46.19... won the 50 fly (22.87) against UIC October 27, swimming a season-best time... also won the 100 fly the same day... won the 200 fly November 3 against Davenport... scored in two events at the IUPUI House of Champions meet, taking third in the 200 fly (1:50.63) and fifth in the 100 fly (season-best 48.99)... won the 200 fly (1:56.16) January 27 against Green Bay.
2022-23 (Freshman)
Swam in a pair of events at the Horizon League Championships, taking 13th in the 100 butterfly (48.98) and 21st in the 200 IM (1:53.13), setting season-best times in each ... first collegiate meet against UIC Oct. 15 resulted in an individual victory in the 100 fly in a time of 50.60 and a runner-up finish in the 200 fly in 1:54.51 ... named Horizon League Swimmer of the Week for his efforts ... continued that success the next weekend, winning the 200 fly in 1:55.33 and taking runner-up in both the 100 freestyle in 47.47 and the 200 freestyle in 1:44.88 at the Wisconsin Showcase Oct. 22 ... followed that up with a pair of third-place finishes against IUPUI Oct. 28 in both butterfly events ... claimed the win in the 100 backstroke in a time of 53.81 at Wheaton Nov. 4 ... also topped the field in the 200 fly (1:56.21) at the University of Chicago Jan. 14 ... second in the 200 fly in the win over Green Bay Jan. 28.
High School: Did not compete in the pool for John Marshall High School, instead choosing to swim year-round for Rochester Swim Club for 12 years … competed at two Summer Jr. National meets … two-time Rochester Swim Club Male Athlete of the Year … 200 butterfly champion at the 2018 Minnesota Central Zone Championship … Top 10 national relay record … U.S. Open qualifier … Futures qualifier in the 100 butterfly … received National Latin Exam Maxima Cum Laude honors.

Personal: Son of Todd and Olga Wheeler … mother was on the Russian National Team in figure skating … given name is Nikolas … a kinesiology major … chose Milwaukee because of the culture provided by the coaches and team along with their values … career goal is to set the school record in the 200 butterfly and make the NCAA Championships as a competitor … most memorable sports experience was time-trialing the 200 butterfly at a LCM State Meet and getting a U.S. Open cut … lists hobbies as traveling and working out … has done community service work as a Special Olympics volunteer … born September 11, 2003.
