2014-15 (Junior):
Made an immediate impact with the Panthers, starting 23 of 30 games in her first season at Milwaukee ... averaged 9.7 points (third on squad), 2.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game ... her total of 134 assists was fifth in a season in program history and her 4.5 average ranked third in the Horizon League ... finished 10th in conference with a team-high 44 steals and 10th with a 1.25 assist-to-turnover ratio ... scored in double-figures 15 times, leading the team in scoring on five occasions ... had three games of 20-or-more, with a high of 23 twice ... chipped in with four assists and three rebounds in the exhibition contest against Southwest Minnesota State Nov. 9 ... played 29 minutes off the bench in her UWM debut at North Dakota State Nov. 16, finishing in double-figures with 10 points ... added six assists and just one turnover ... made her first UWM start a good one, finishing with 23 points at North Dakota Nov. 18 ... sank five three-pointers and handed out four assists ... grabbed a season-high five rebounds and tied her UWM best with six assists against Bowling Green Nov. 22 ... 17 points and four assists at Marquette Nov. 26 ... season-high eight assists and six steals in the win over UMKC Dec. 2 ... one of three players in double-figures against Indiana Dec. 14, finishing with 10 points and three assists ... led the team with 20 points at Western Illinois Dec. 30, playing a season-high 36 minutes ... set a season-high with 10 assists and tied her UWM-best with 23 points for her first career double-double at Detroit Jan. 7 ... just the 12th points/assists double-double in program history ... tied game record for most 3’s without a miss at 5-for-5 ... led team with 17 points and tied season high with five rebounds against Wright State Jan. 14 ... came off the bench to score 11, grab four rebounds and hand out five assists in the win over Valpo Jan. 21 ... tied for the team lead with 16 points at Cleveland State Jan. 29 ... 11 points and four assists against Youngstown State Feb. 19 ... handed out a season-high 12 assists (to just 3 TO’s) at UIC Feb. 25, tied for the third-highest total in program history ... nine points and seven assists in the win over Cleveland State Feb. 28 ... finished with 11 points and eight assists at Wright State March 7.

Prior to UWM:
Did not play last season after competing at Malcolm X College as a sophomore and Southern Illinois University as a freshman ... will be eligible to play for the Panthers in 2014-15 ... a point guard, she averaged an impressive 20.9 points per game in 26 contests for Malcolm X in 2012-13, including 42 points in the National Junior College Athletic Association's regional championship game ... earned honorable mention All-American status ... shot 44.1 percent from the floor while also adding 8.7 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game ... was No. 2 in the nation in assists, including a 20-assist outing ... as a freshman for the Salukis, Armstrong appeared in 23 games, averaging close to two points per contest.

Played three years on the varsity at Bogan High School before missing her senior season due to injury, averaging 11.5 points and 7.8 assists ... set the school career assist record for both average and overall with 585 ... was ranked a three-star recruit and 55th at point guard by ESPN HoopGurlz.

Daughter of Eddie Gardner and Theresa Armstrong ... birthday is July 30, 1993 ... nickname is "J Smoove" ... has three brothers ... a communications major ... chose UWM because of the environment and the great support system ... career goal is to be in sports broadcasting after a possible professional playing career ... lists hobbies as basketball, softball, volleyball and football ... has done volunteer work with the Boys & Girls Club.

"Jaleesa brings a wealth of experience and leadership to our team," Rechlicz said. "She has the ability to score, but is always looking to make plays for her teammates first. She brings a different style of game to our program and I know that she is going to work hard to elevate our play next season."
