Panthers Sign Local Standout Aaron Womack As Transfer Into Program

Will head to the Panthers after a redshirt season at Syracuse

April 24, 2026

MILWAUKEE – Aaron Womack has signed with the Milwaukee men's basketball program and will transfer in and play for the Panthers next season, head coach Bart Lundy officially announced today.

Womack, a 6-foot, 6-inch, 170-pound guard who is from Milwaukee and played locally at Dominican High School, transfers into the program following a redshirt season as a freshman at Syracuse in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

"We are very excited to add Aaron to our program," Lundy said. "Aaron is a high-level player with an even higher level of character. He is a young man who we identified early in his career and offered almost four years ago. It has been fun to watch his development through high school and how he has continued that in his redshirt season at Syracuse."

Womack put together a remarkable four-year career at nearby Dominican High School in Milwaukee, emerging as one of the state's most consistent and dominant performers.

"There is no limit on where Aaron can go with his career," Lundy said. "He adds a tremendous basketball IQ, as well as size and shooting to our roster. Aaron is an immediate impact player in the Horizon League."

After a strong freshman campaign in which he averaged 16.6 points per game (adding 4.4 rpg/2.5 apg/1.6 steals) and helped lead the Knights to a 21-6 record, he elevated his play each season, posting 19.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game as a sophomore. That winter, he scored 20+ points in 12 outings and posted a season-high of 31 points. He finished at 20.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game as a junior while earning First Team All-Metro Classic Conference honors, guiding Dominican to a 24-4 mark.  He recorded 11 double-doubles and scored 20-plus on 18 occasions, topping out at a new career-best of 34 points.

As a senior, Womack delivered a stellar season, averaging 28.8 points on 60 percent shooting along with 11.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 2.3 steals, and 2.8 blocks per game, recording 15 double-doubles and scoring 20 or more points in all but four contests. He earned Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association First-Team All-State honors and first-team all-conference status while surpassing the 2,000-point milestone – becoming the 60th player in Wisconsin high school basketball history to do so – earning him Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Athlete of the Week honors along the way. He also upped his career-high once again, going for 50 points (while adding 17 rebounds) against Milwaukee Hamilton. He was a finalist for "Mr. Basketball" in the state of Wisconsin and wrapped up his career ranked as a three-star recruit according to 247Sports, holding close to 10 NCAA Division I offers before choosing Syracuse.
