MILWAUKEE –
Bella Hollenbach of the Milwaukee women's soccer team has been named the Horizon League Under Armour Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced this afternoon.
It's the second time she has claimed the honor this season, also selected Sept. 8.
Hollenbach kept her work scoreless in net rolling through a pair of matches last week, leading the Panthers to shutout victories against both Robert Morris and Youngstown State on the road.
Hollenbach started the week Thursday with a 2-0 win over the Colonials, making three saves in the league-opening victory. On Sunday, she came through again, making a trio of toughs saves to help Milwaukee top the Penguins in a battle of unbeaten conference opponents.
She now carries a spotless 0.00 GAA through two conference games and has not allowed a goal in over four-plus appearances, totaling 342:14.
It's the fifth award of the season for the program, joining
Kristina Karlof (Offensive Sept. 15),
Ashlyn Skinner-Barrett (Offensive Sept. 8), and
Zoey Pagels (Offensive Aug. 18).
