LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Milwaukee volleyball team has earned the Team Academic Award, as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on Monday morning.
 
The Team Academic Award is presented to programs that maintain a year-long grade point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale. The Panthers recorded a team GPA of 3.668 in the fall semester and a 3.630 in the spring term.
 
This is the seventh consecutive season that Milwaukee has been recognized by the AVCA and 12th year of the last 13 seasons, including the past six years on the Honor Roll.
 
This is the 19th time that Milwaukee has received with the Team Academic Award since the AVCA began issuing the honor following the 1992-93 academic year. The Panthers first award came following the 1994-95 season.
 
Overall, Milwaukee is one of 233 Division I programs to earn the AVCA Team Academic Award this year, including all nine other programs in the Horizon League.

Milwaukee's season will get underway on Friday, August 29, when the team visits Omaha. The Panthers will open their home season with the 2025 Panther Invitational, beginning with a matchup against Iowa State on Friday, Sept. 5 at 6:00 p.m. at the Klotsche Center.
