MKE Baseball Scores Game-Winning Run in Bottom of the Ninth to Edge MSOE

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee baseball team walked off with a win on Wednesday evening as a bases-loaded walk by Justin Hausser in the bottom of the ninth clinched a 3-2 non-conference win over the MSOE Raiders.

Cade Palkowski scored the winning run after leading off the ninth with a single. Tristan Ellis walked after a wild pitch and a bunt moved Palkowski to third, before Tyler Bickers was intentionally walked to fill the bases. Hausser walked on the sixth pitch of the at bat to force home the deciding run.

Teige Lethert had a two-run home run in the sixth inning to give the Panthers their first lead of the game. Tyler Deleskiewicz pitched the first four scoreless innings, while Riley Peterson and Logan Snow combined for 1 1/3 innings out of the bullpen with a strikeout apiece.

The first four innings were scoreless as Deleskiewicz limited the Raiders to just one hit in his longest outing of the season. Parker Bleck took over in the fifth, and MSOE broke the scoreless tie on a groundout after a leadoff walk.

After Bleck got through the top of the sixth unscathed, Caden Headlee singled and later stole second. Lethert was able to swing the lead in favor of the Panthers with a two-run home run over the left centerfield fence to give Milwaukee a 2-1 lead.

MSOE tied the game in the eighth with a sacrifice fly off Keagon Kaufmann. Peterson came on to strike out the final batter of the inning and keep the score level.

Logan Snow worked out of a jam in the ninth with runners on the corners and one out before a strikeout and groundout ended the threat. In the bottom half, Milwaukee picked up the win on Hausser's bases-loaded walk.

Snow picked up his first win of the season, while Morgan Davis suffered the loss after seven relief innings with three strikeouts.

Ellis finished the game 2-for-2 with a double and walked twice for the Panthers.

Milwaukee resumes Horizon League play on Friday to open a three-game set with the Northern Kentucky Norse. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at Franklin Field. Prior to the game the team will recognize retired head coach Scott Doffek.
