MILWAUKEE – Sam Lorenz and Gabrielle LePine of the Milwaukee swimming & diving teams were named Swimmers of the Week in a Horizon League announcement on Wednesday.
 
This marks the second weekly award of Lorenz's sophomore campaign. He shined at the House of Champions Invitational, securing five gold medals and setting six new Panther program records.
 
Lorenz set individual program records in the 50 Freestyle (19.68), 100 Backstroke (45.75), and 200 Backstroke (1:43.49). His 100 Backstroke time came in below the NCAA D1 Championships qualifying standard, adding to an already impressive showing. He also contributed to three school-record relay finishes in the 400 Freestyle Relay (2:57.20), 400 Medley Relay (3:12.51), and 200 Medley Relay (1:26.64).
 
LePine, now a five-time Horizon League Swimmer of the Week nominee, earns her first weekly honor of her junior campaign. She recorded two first-place finishes at the House of Champions Invitational, winning the 50 Breaststroke in 28.09 and the 100 Breaststroke in 1:01.05. LePine led Milwaukee in points over the three-day meet with 677.6.
 
The Panthers will be back in action in 2026 when they host the MKE Time Trials at the Klotsche Natatorium on January 16-17.
