Panthers Tie Single-Game Scoring Record Against Dominican, 125-70

Team back on the road Saturday at Akron

MILWAUKEE – Amar Augillard scored a game-high 20 points and the Milwaukee men's basketball team had eight players finish in double-figures for the first time in program history to lead the way in a 125-70 victory over Dominican (Ill.) Tuesday night at the Klotsche Center.

The Panthers (3-4) scored 10 of the first 12 points of the evening and led the Stars by a score of 53-24 at halftime. The team really turned it on after intermission, setting a school record with 72 points in the second half on its way to tying the all-time record of 125 points in a game.

Augillard led the unprecedented eight players with 10+ points, adding eight rebounds and three steals to his 20-point outing.

Sekou Konneh nearly had a double-double, finishing with 17 points while grabbing nine rebounds in just 19 minutes of game action. Seth Hubbard also finished with 17 points, adding seven rebounds and three steals.

Danilo Jovanovich was next with 14 points, grabbing six rebounds and handing out three assists in a perfect shooting night, going 7-of-7 from the floor.

Faizon Fields (12 points/6 rebounds/6-7 FG) and Isaiah Dorceus (12 points/8 assists) were next, with Josh Dixon tying his season-best with 11 points. Simeon Murchison rounded out the list with the best outing of his collegiate career, finishing with 10 points and three rebounds – both totals being career-bests.

"Those are pretty crazy numbers when we only made six three's," head coach Bart Lundy said postgame. "I thought we got some good contributions. It's nice to be back in the win column. This is a tired and beat-up team. It's been a really long road trip over the past couple of weeks. We have been in a bunch of states, a bunch of planes, and played a bunch of really tough opponents, so it's good to see us get back on the right side of this."

The MKE offense came out firing, leading 10-2 to start the game. The Stars hung around for a bit, but Milwaukee slowly extended the lead over the first 20 minutes, settling into a 53-24 lead at the break.

A huge second half followed, with the 72 points breaking the former school record of 66 while Konneh's 360-dunk in the closing seconds following a steal helping the team draw even with the school record of 125 points – set against Judson back in December of 2015.

Frank Paszkowski led Dominican with 17 points, making five three-pointers.

For the game, the home side shot 60.5 percent (49-of-81), with the 49 made field goals breaking the school record of 47. The team won the rebounding battle, 52-22, with the +30 margin the third-largest rebounding advantage in the record book. The Panthers also enjoyed advantages of 82-26 in the paint and 48-12 in fastbreak points.

Up next, the Panthers enjoy a few days off for the holiday week and then hit the road Saturday, set to battle Akron at 6 p.m. CT.
