Gunnar Seversen and
Gabrielle LePine were named Horizon League Men's and Women's Swimmers of the Week, announced today by the league office.

Seversen earned the honor for the first time in his career after an impressive performance at Saturday's dual meet against Green Bay. He started off the meet by winning the 1000 freestyle with a time of 9:25.09. The freshman then followed that up with another first-place finish in the 500 freestyle, touching the wall in 4:40.32. He then closed the day anchoring the 800 freestyle relay team to a Klotsche Natatorium record time of 6:41.82.

On the women's side, LePine continued her dominance in the 100 breaststroke this season, finishing in 1:02.63 to take the top spot. Then, in the 100 freestyle she grabbed another top finish after posting a time of 52.30. The now three-time League Swimmer of the Week was also instrumental in the 200 medley relay teams' victory with a time of 1:45.22.

The Panthers return to action on Friday, Jan. 31 when they travel for their final dual meet of the season at Stevens Point at 5:00 p.m.
