MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee women's tennis team kept its early-season momentum rolling, taking care of Bradley by a final score of 5-2 Sunday afternoon at River Glen Elite.
 
The Panthers (3-1) topped the Braves (1-4) for the first time in five tries in the all-time series and improved to 3-1 through four matches for just the second time since the 2011-12 campaign (also 2020-21).
 
"I am beyond proud of this team, they fight hard and compete from the first point to the last," head coach Mark Goldin said. "Every match we have different players stepping up to get points for the team. We are playing every point for the team and to represent the University."
 
Sara Simonova stayed red-hot, capping off a 4-0 weekend with a three-set victory at No. 5 singles and another decision with Babette Burgersdijk in doubles.
 
Iva Stejskalova, coming off injury, also played a key role by earning the clinching point for the team after defeating Alexandra Hildreth 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 6.
 
"Not only are the ladies playing great tennis, but they are also showing respect to their opponents and creating a team identity of a one that fights hard, competes and respects their opponents," Goldin said. "We will enjoy the wins today and can't wait to get back to work next week!"
 
MKE picked up the doubles point to get things started. In addition to the 6-3 win from Simonova and Burgersdijk, Laure Razet and Nadiia Konieva got past Kirsten Hailey and Andra Sirbu, 7-5.
 
Konieva improved to 8-1 in singles action on the season after posting a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 2 over Anna Belogliadova.
 
Simonova came up clutch to claim the 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (7-3) decision and Emilia Durska topped Kirsten Hailey in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.
 
Up next for the Panthers is a visit to UIC Friday, set to start at 12 p.m.
