INDIANAPOLIS – The Horizon League unveiled a new basketball championships logo on Tuesday ahead of the 2024 Horizon League Basketball Championships in another major move to tip-off the academic year.
Why it Matters: The new logo is part of the League's recently announced brand recharge. All 19 Horizon League championship events received new logos that incorporated updated colors and brand elements.
Dig Deeper: The new basketball championships logo's structure was based on the backboard and net of a basketball hoop and the new color scheme pulls in elements of the "golden hour", a photography term referring to the period of time just after sunrise or just before sunset when the light is infused with gold tones, and blue colors taken from the sky at dawn and dusk. The League partnered with Section 127 on the creation and design of the new championship logos.
The Horizon League also unveiled its new #MarchStartsHere campaign in conjunction with the basketball championships. Indianapolis will feature several major college basketball events in 2024, including the first and second rounds of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament and the semifinals and championship of the NIT. The Horizon League Basketball Championships tip off the incredible stretch of events in the city.
The 2024 Horizon League Basketball Championships will begin March 5 and 7 with early round games on campus and will culminate with the semifinal and championship games at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum March 11-12. Groups, youth sports organizations and basketball fans interested in attending games or learning more about getting involved in Indianapolis are encouraged to email Kelley Ford at kford@horizonleague.org.
