Rechlicz to be Honored by Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame

April 28, 2023

NEW CASTLE, Ind. – This weekend Milwaukee head coach Kyle Rechlicz will be honored by the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame as a member of its Silver Anniversary Team, recognizing outstanding high school senior basketball players.

Rechlicz, who has coached the Milwaukee women's basketball program since the 2012-13 season, was a 1998 Indiana All-Star as well as a 1998 Indiana Basketball Coaches Association Honorable Mention Academic All-State honoree. In addition, she was selected as Marion County Female Athlete of the Year, the largest county in the state by population, which includes the state capital of Indianapolis.

Following her high school tenure at North Central High School in Indianapolis, Rechlicz held numerous school records at the time of her graduation. She was the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,423 career points and was also the program's all-time leader in field goals made, field goal percentage, three-pointers made, assists, and steals.

Upon graduating from North Central High School, Rechlicz played collegiately at the University of Wisconsin and helped the team to four postseason appearances including a pair of berths to the NCAA Tournament. Her coaching tenure included stops at Cleveland State, Dayton, and Wisconsin before being hired to lead the Panther program, guiding the team to 165 wins and four postseason tournament appearances thus far over her time at Milwaukee.

Rechlicz will be one of 18 women inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame and is just the second individual from North Central High School to be inducted. The induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, April 29.
