Kendall Nead Named Horizon League Player of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS – On Monday, the Horizon League announced its weekly honors for the sixth week of the 2023-24 season with Milwaukee's Kendall Nead selected as Horizon League Player of the Week.
 
Nead helped the Panthers to a win on Friday evening over the Eastern Illinois Panthers by the score of 59-52 as she recorded her first double-double of the season with 19 points and 13 rebounds. The double-double was also the third of her career.
 
During the game on Friday, she finished the contest shooting 8-of-19 from the field with 11 of her 13 rebounds coming on the defensive glass. She also added one assist, one block, and two steals to the team victory over EIU.
 
On the year, Nead leads the Horizon League and is in the top-50 of individual players in NCAA Division I in terms of scoring average with 18.8 points per game. She is also fourth in all of Division I in field goals made with 94 makes on the year, trailing just Caitlin Clark (Guard, Iowa) with 124, Yvonne Ejim (Forward, Gonzaga) with 111, and Alissa Pili (Forward, Utah) with 101.
 
Through the team's first 12 games, Nead leads Milwaukee in scoring with 225 points and 70 rebounds, she is also second on the team with 16 steals, third with three blocks, and fourth with 21 assists. She also leads all of Milwaukee's guards with a .450 shooting percentage.
 
Through 97 career games, she has scored 840 points on 339 field goals including 88 three-pointers. She has 315 rebounds, and 111 assists to go along with 69 steals and 16 blocks. She has made 45 starts in her 97 career appearances and averaged just over 20 minutes per game playing 2,027 minutes through three-plus seasons.
 
This is Nead's first-ever Horizon League Player of the Week selection. Nead was a preseason second-team honoree before the start of the 2023-24 campaign.
 
Milwaukee is 6-6 on the season and will play its non-conference finale on Wednesday evening, when the Panthers host the Viterbo V-Hawks at 7:00 p.m. at the Klotsche Center.
