Panthers Lead Horizon League with Three All-Academic Team Selections

INDIANAPOLIS – Milwaukee volleyball had three members of the team earn Horizon League All-Academic Team honors as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Earning All-Academic accolades were Madi Malone, Ari Miller, and Sarah Schrader, as Milwaukee led all 10 of the Horizon League programs with selections on the All-Academic Team. Cleveland State and Oakland were the only other programs with multiple selections at two apiece.
 
For Miller, this is the fourth time in her career on the All-Academic Team after receiving accolades in each of her eligible seasons. Malone and Schrader are earning their first-ever All-Academic Team nod.
 
After graduating with a degree in health care administration, Miller is currently earning her master's in business administration at UW-Milwaukee. During her graduate studies she has a 3.890 grade-point average after graduating with a 3.979 undergraduate degree. This season she has 373 kills and a .371 hitting percentage with 28 service aces to go along with 131 blocks in her final season of competition.
 
Schrader is currently wrapping up her studies in kinesiology and currently has a 3.876 grade-point average. She currently leads the team with 36 service aces on the year, and is also the team leader with 385 digs, she is also third on the Panthers with 76 assists this season.
 
Malone is an education major in her junior year at Milwaukee and entered the fall semester with a 3.603 grade-point average. She leads the team this season with 411 kills, while she is hitting at a .256 percentage. She is second on the team with 305 digs and has 47 blocks to her credit for 459 points this season.
 
The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes with seasonal Academic All-League Teams in each of its 19 championship sports. To be eligible for Horizon League All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.20 or higher (based on a 4.00 scale), have completed at least one year at the member institution, having earned 24 semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour credits, and participate in 50 percent of the team's overall contests. An Honorable Mention team is awarded to student-athletes who received at least 25 percent of votes but did not make the All-Academic team.
