INDIANAPOLIS – For the fourth consecutive week and fifth time this season, the Milwaukee volleyball team has had a student-athlete selected as the Horizon League Player of the Week as
Madi Malone earned her second-consecutive individual honor on Monday afternoon.

Malone played in all 12 of Milwaukee's sets this week, as the Panthers played a trio of four-set matches as the team went 2-1 in league play with wins over the top two teams in this season's preseason poll with victories over Northern Kentucky on Friday and Wright State on Saturday.

On the week, Malone had a team-best 48 kills while connecting on a .306 hitting percentage. She also added a team-high five service aces on the week and picked up two assists as well. Malone was third on the team with 33 digs as she averaged 2.75 digs per set and added a pair of assisted blocks.
This season, Malone is second on the team and third in the Horizon League with 248 kills, while she is also second on the Panthers and 15th in the conference in digs with 194 on the year.

She has a .232 hitting percentage on the season as she has played in all 82 of the team's sets in 2023, while she has also totaled nine service aces and 18 assists on the year. Defensively, she has 31 blocks this season.

In league play, Malone has kicked it up a notch with a team-best 3.46 kills per set, while she is hitting .289 with 90 kills through the first seven league matches. She is also third for the Panthers in digs during league matches with 63 through the team's 26 sets played against Horizon League foes.

In 82 career matches she has 925 career kills, on over 2,600 attempts while hitting .218 over her 303 career sets played. She also has 51 assists and 44 service aces. She has 775 digs with 89 career blocks. She has 1015.5 career points for an average of 3.35 points per set in three seasons as a Panther.
This is Malone's second-straight selection by the Horizon League, as she joins
Ari Miller, who earned conference honors three times through the month of September. This is also her fourth career selection as Horizon League Athlete of the Week, with two this season and two selections in 2021.

Milwaukee will be back on the road for the next four matches, including this weekend when the team travels to Oakland on Friday for a 5:00 p.m. (CT) start, while the Panthers will visit Cleveland State a day later at 3:00 p.m. (CT).
