INDIANAPOLIS – Milwaukee volleyball player Ari Miller and men's soccer player Paolo Gratton have been selected as the Horizon League Scholar-Athletes of the Season, the League office announced on Wednesday.

Ari Miller, middle blocker from Milwaukee, earns her first career Scholar-Athlete of the Season award after leading the Panthers to a regular season crown and top seed in the Horizon League Volleyball Championship. During the 2021 campaign, Miller was first in the League in hitting percentage (.378), third in kills per set (3.57) and fourth in points per set (4.09). Milwaukee midfielder Paolo Gratton picks up his first Scholar-Athlete of the Season honor following the Panthers run to the semifinal match of the Horizon League Men's Soccer Championship. Gratton, a senior from Madison, Wis., was a member of the 2021 All-League First Team and finished with the sixth most goals in the League (7). Following a two-goal performance against RMU midway through the season, Gratton picked up Nike Player of the Week honors.
