MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Thanks to their work on the field and in the classroom,
Jess Grabowski and
Ari Miller earned a spot on the 2021 Academic All-District First Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at her institution.
The award marks the second for Grabowski, who earned a First Team nod in 2019. Earlier this week, Grabowski also earned a Horizon League All-Academic honor. The senior holds a 3.82 GPA in her work toward a degree in accounting and marketing. Grabowski has logged another impressive season for the Panthers' defense, totaling 471 digs and recording at least 10 digs in 24 matches this year. She has moved to third place on the Panthers' all-time digs list with 1,845.
It marks the first CoSIDA Academic All-District honor for Miller, who has two Horizon League All-Academic awards to her name. The junior owns a 3.99 GPA in the classroom with a focus in health care administration. On the court, she's proven to be one of the best in the league, leading with a .388 attack percentage and ranking fourth in kills per set (3.56) and points per frame (4.10).
As members of the First Team in District 6, both Grabowski and Miller automatically advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. All-America honorees will be released in early December.
