MKE Hosts Green Bay For Senior Day

Seniors swim at Klotsche one last time

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Milwaukee men's and women's swimming and diving team celebrate 13 seniors in its final home meet of the season against in-state rival Green Bay on Saturday, Jan. 25. Racing gets underway at 1 p.m. from the Klotsche Natatorium.
 
SENIOR DAY
A senior recognition ceremony will be held right before the start of the meet. The 13 seniors recognized are Alicia Beam, Bailey Bodart, Jacob Fase, Keely Frankwicz, Tim Greci, Zach Hammond, Patrick Kelley, Carolina Matamoros, Justin Ogle, Cecilia Ostergren, Sam Salganik, Ryan Scripp, and Dane Van Allen.
 
SCOUTING THE PHOENIX
In-state rival Green Bay is 2-3 on the season. The Phoenix defeated both Cleveland State and Northern Michigan and fell to Oakland, UIC and Wisconsin. Most notably, Green Bay is also 0-2 when on the road this season.
 
On the women's sides, Green Bay leads the all-time series, 18-11, over the Panthers, but Milwaukee is making a comeback after winning the past eight meetings. The Panthers lead 6-2 over the Phoenix when at the Klotsche Natatorium.
 
The MKE men lead the all-times series over Green Bay, 13-12, while also winning at home the past six times.
 
LET'S MAKE IT 18-STRAIGHT
The Milwaukee women have been unstoppable in their home pool and are currently holding a 17-winning streak at home. The Panthers hope to close out the year on top over rival Green Bay on Saturday to extend the streak to 18.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Panthers fell short in the dual against the University of Chicago, but MKE had a some big moments. Freshman standout diver Jared Kleczka grabbed two big personal best scores on both the one-meter and three-meter events. The Franklin native scored a 338.03 on the three-meter, which is now the third-best score in program history and scored a 313.20 on the one-meter to also add his name to the Panther All-Time Top-10 list at No. 5. Additionally, Kleczka qualified for NCAA Zone Diving for both events.
 
ON DECK
After Saturday's home meet, the Panthers hit the road for one final match-up before heading to the big show. Milwaukee will take on UW-Stevens Point on Friday, Jan. 31, in the final dual meet of the regular season while the diving team will compete at the UIC Diving Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 1.
