Ari Miller stood out for the Milwaukee volleyball team this weekend at the Jackrabbit Invitational and in turn, was honored with a weekly award as she was named the Nike® Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week by the league office.
The award is Miller's first of her career.
In four victories, Miller totaled 59 kills, averaging 4.21 per set. The freshman hit .417 for the week. This past weekend, Miller was named Jackrabbit Invitational Most Valuable Player as she put away 49 kills. In a 3-2 comeback victory over South Dakota State, Miller recorded a career-high 21 kills, hitting .357.
Miller has now reached double digits in five consecutive matches and nine of 13 matches for the season. Additionally, Miller tallied five blocks for the Panthers, who have won nine consecutive matches and moved to 12-1.
