Panthers Continue Exhibition Slate At Loyola Chicago

Milwaukee falls, 1-0, on the road

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Milwaukee men's soccer team traveled to Loyola Chicago Tuesday evening, coming up on the short end of a tough 1-0 decision as the exhibition season continued.

The Panthers had 23 different players hit the field, continuing a very busy stretch of the preseason. Milwaukee also had three different goalies see game action on the evening.

The Ramblers were able to convert the only goal of the contest in the 53rd minute, with Andrew Mitchell heading in a corner kick.

That was the only damage allowed by the MKE defense, which played well overall. The offense kept pushing and nearly had the equalizer on a pair of late occasions, with Paolo Gratton (87th minute) and Ben Krolczyk (88th minute) both forcing difficult saves as the closing minutes ticked away.

Theo Campbell and Evan Conway also recorded shot attempts. In net, Owen Johnson put up 31:27 of scoreless soccer, with Ben Nast (28:41/1 GA/1 SV) and Nick Chiappa (29:52/0 GA/1 SV) completing the trio of freshmen to appear in goal for the Panthers on the evening.

Next up is the final match of the exhibition slate, welcoming Parkside to Engelmann Stadium Friday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
