Panthers Host Norse Saturday For “Pink Out”

NKU sits a half game ahead of MKE in the league standings

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee women's basketball team closes out its home stand Saturday with a 2 pm game against Northern Kentucky from the Klotsche Center. The Panthers will be wearing special jerseys for their annual "Pink Out" game, with proceeds being donated to Chix4aCause - an organization that provides gifts to people battling cancer.

LOOKING AT THE NORSE
After a 70-42 loss at Green Bay on Thursday, NKU comes to Milwaukee with a 7-15 overall record but sits a half game ahead of the Panthers in the league standings at 6-6.

The Norse are a very balanced squad, with freshman Taylor Clos leading the team in scoring at 10.1 points/game, while Molly Glick (9.6) and Ally Niece (9.0) are right behind.

THE LAST TIME THEY MET
Northern Kentucky scored the final six points of the game to steal one away from the Milwaukee women's basketball team in a tightly battled 55-54 contest from BB&T Arena Thursday evening.

Milwaukee (5-8, 0-2 Horizon) made an impressive push to flip a six-point deficit into a five-point lead in the final frame, only to see NKU (3-10, 2-1 Horizon) go on a 6-0 run to close things out in a heartbreaking loss for the Panthers.

Akaylah Hayes and Lizzie Odegard each finished with 10 points to lead the way for MKE. Bre Cera added another eight points, as did Sydney Levy – netting all eight in the final frame to help spark the comeback effort.

SERIES HISTORY
Milwaukee is 4-3 all-time against one of the Horizon League's newest members. Last year's two contests were both low-scoring affairs, with MKE winning on the road, 52-49, before the Norse won in Milwaukee, 60-57.

UP NEXT
The Panthers leave the state of Wisconsin for the first time in nearly a month next week with a trip to Northeast Ohio, starting Friday at Cleveland State.
